I got this phone for what was supposed to be an ‘upgrade’ from my AT&T Tilt. I wish I had my Tilt back. The write-up on office mobile for this phone is wrong; you can look at docs from a computer, but you cannot create or edit docs. The full version for Office mobile isn’t even available for this phone, according to Pantech. This isn’t the first phone I’ve gotten from AT&T that supposedly had office mobile that was really only an office viewer. My Nokia Surge was supposed to have Office capability. When I tried ot use it, it offered to download a subscription for >$60. 00. When I contacted Nokia, they said to “create the document on my desktop, and then copy it to the phone and look at it. ” Oh gee; a $300. look at my letter toy. According to customer service at Pantech, Office Mobile ‘might’ be available early next year, for either a $39 monthly lease or $399. 00 purchase. I’m not doing either; I’m using my old Tilt as a PDA, and only use the phone/texting portions of this phone; it’s a goner as soon as I can change it. I’ve had it for 1 1/2 months, and the qwerty keyboard is already flaking out.

Let me start by saying I no longer have this phone. The phone itself is very cute, not bulky (as many have said), and is a keeper. I liked the shininess of the phone (it came with a velvet case/cleaner) which I thought was a nice touch. I love Windows Mobile 6. 1. This is a great operating system and worked well for what I needed. The only problem I had w the phone was the size of the display. and all the games on the phone are demos (not a favorite of this). Prior to using this phone I had the HTC Tilt (loved that phone!) and the display was much much bigger. When they decide to expand the display I will consider purchasing again. SO for anyone considering purchasing the Matrix Pro, know that its a great phone and worth the money!!!

This is a good phone and the only one on the market currently with dual sliding keyboards. I owned a Nokia 6800, and once you own a phone with a QWERTY keyboard, you never go back to not having one. I purchased the Pantech Matrix Pro for the dual sliding keyboard feature and because it’s a world phone with tri-band 3G and quad-band connectivity, usuable in many countries. The down sides with this phone are 1) it’s heavy because of the dual keyboard design, 2) screen rotation is slow compared to the lightning fast response of the Nokia 6800, 3) texting is slower compared to the Nokia 6800 (the Cadillac of keyboards) because of the small keyboard design and limited symbols, 4) poor battery life; I have to recharge 2-3 times a week and that with little texting and few calls, and 5) the alarm has no snooze feature. It does take a bit to familiarize yourself with how to navigate smoothly in and out of screens, and there are many applications/features the user may or may not need, but it’s all there in case you do. All in all, a good phone!
