I purchased a brand new gravity ( aqua & white model ) in feb and I was paying on the installment plan. I have had the phone 3 months and I have had 3 gavity’s sent to me from the manufactor do to issues with the phone. The band new phone I bought had so many problems ranging from battery life to issues with texting not going through, no service in area where my sister who has the same phone only in the black/lime model had 5 bars. The phone would drop calls after 2 minutes and when someone called me from my address book ( say it was my sister) the number shown was correct but the name was wrong ( said my fathers name with sisters #) the phone was possed. 2nd phone given to me , same thing, now the third phone is worse. all above problems along with these 2 others, the phone has a severe static problem and ( has killed my marriage) by that i will tell you that this phone was sitting on a table with no one touching it and it ( by itself) called the first person who was listed on my fav 5’s which was my husband and he heard a conversation that was not meant for him to hear cause it was taken the wrong way. this phone is a peice of garbage!!!!!!!!!! What is the kicker is I purchased a brand new gravity phone with all accessories and now i have a phone that does not even ring ( forgot to ad that) and that i have to still pay 1 more month month of $33 ontop of my plan and the last 2 phones that were sent to me were refurbished. Who in this world is happy paying for a brand new phone that is not brand new and is used but was someone elses peice of crap and was fixed?? bottom line, please please do not buy this phone!!!!!!!!!! its a waste of money!!!!!! get the better phones like blackberry or the shawdow, do not let the sales men talk you out of the phone to go with the gravity. you will be so miserable!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got this phone for it’s simple yet practical functions. I had a Samsung Behold before and I decided to down-grade to this phone because I didn’t like the way my Behold functioned and so far I’m liking the simplicity of this phone and the slide-out QWERTY keyboard. (I’ve owned this phone for 2 weeks)
This phone has simple and convenient functions. Like everyone else has said, it’s mostly great for texting. I really love the functionality, layout/design of the phone, colors, and size: not too big and chunky and not too small where I’m losing or dropping it all the time.
I am, however, having problems with call quality as other people have said. I don’t have a static problem like others but my call cuts in and out for the person on the other line which is frustrating.
Overall I’d say it’s simple and practical (especially for texting which I do a lot)
but poor call quality, small phone memory, and medium battery life. I do have to recharge every 1-2 days whereas with other phones I only had to recharge every 2-3 days sometimes 4 days.
. . . works for me!

I am currently on phone number 4 of the samsung gravity. The first two i didn’t have long were either lost or dropped into a lake so i didnt have them long enough to experience any problems. The third one i had didnt start to have problems until about six months. The top 3/4 of the screen soon started going white but would fix itself after i would shut it off and pull out the battery. Soon it became a fixed feature on my phone. i took it into a dealer and they just handed me a replacement. Instantly, i started having problems. The phone would start randomly shutting off and restarting itself. Soon, it started doing it to a point where i couldn’t even make a phone call without it freezing and shutting off. This phone was discontinued for a good reason!! I called customer care and told them what was happening and that i did NOT want another replacement. I am not a fan of the style and color choices for the Gravity 2, so they offered me an upgrade discount and another discount that ended up taking off 200 dollars from another phone of my choice. The upgrade also did not affect my normal upgrade that i would normally get for a new phone either. T-mobile stores cannot do much for this situation, call 611 because tmobile customer care ROCKS!!

Do not buy it.
I brought one in Jan 2009. Sth fell loose and stuck out of the back of the slide-out top. So the query keyboard cannot be slided out any more and the keyboard became useless. My phone is still under 1 year warranty. However, Tmobile calls it “standard wear and tear” and refused to honor the warranty. They want to charge $100 for the replacement.
If you do not want a phone standard-wear-and-tear out in 10 months, do not buy this phone. If you do not want a provider who do not honor its warranty, do not from Tmobile.
